Now teaching lessons remotely over Zoom

Students have the opportunity to perform for their peers in Studio Class up to seven times a year.

Whether we are working on Bach or Billie Eilish, my flexible, goal centered approach is catered to the individual student.
Lessons incorporate theory, ear training, and music history in encouraging a love and appreciation of music and the cello.

It is important that students understand the mechanics behind playing the cello in order to achieve a solid foundation and understanding of cello technique. It is not enough that we learn "the right way" to move and position ourselves while we play; we must understand why, in terms of ergonomics, efficiency, and musicality.
Studying the cello develops persistence, creative problem solving, effective project management, concentration, calm, and focus.

I have been teaching in the Baltimore area for twenty years; currently I teach cello lessons from my studio in Baltimore, near Johns Hopkins University. All ages and ability levels are welcome.
